Wapakman

July 29th, 2009

Here we have a hilarious and ingenious teaser trailer for the Filipino superhero action comedy film Wapakman, directed by Topel Lee and starring boxing champ (and part-time actor) Manny Pacquiao, lead Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, and WWE pro wrestler Batista:

Looking forward to this one.

Considered by many the top pound-for-pound boxer in the world, Manny Pacquiao stars as a father gifted with amazing superpowers.

Judging by the trailer, Manny’s superhero alter ego is either incredibly fast or able to turn invisible and, rather appropriately, packs a mean punch.  We’ll just have to wait and see what other cool powers he may possess (the teaser ends with the tagline “Flying Soon”).

Similar in tone to 2004′s Kung Fu Hustle,  Wapakman is scheduled to begin filming this month.

Terminator Salvation Motion Poster

I saw this awhile back but never got around to posting it until now:

The Terminator Salvation official website calls it a “motion poster” – pretty neat, right?

October 16th, 2008

Here we have some really cool pixel art by a Flickr user who goes by the name dergutemoritz:

And there you have it – Mega Man, the Blue Bomber himself, in all of his 8-bit glory!

The artist describes the piece as “Classic NES Mega Man on my room’s wall, made of 7×7cm paper squares, about 2m in height.”

Fun stuff!

Little Red Riding Hood’s Zombie BBQ For Nintendo DS

September 28th, 2008

What a terrific title!

…and what a terrific premise for a video game:

Fairy tale land has been invaded by the living dead, and it’s up to Little Red Riding Hood and Japanese folk tale hero Momotaro (an unlikely ally if ever there was one…) to conquer the undead hordes using anything and everything they can get their hands on!  Machine guns, bombs, ninja stars, grenade launchers, and, I can only assume given the title, flamethrowers?

If our intrepid heroes fail, they’ll join the rest of their zombie fairy tale brethren in an “unhappy ever afterlife!”

The game itself is more-or-less a basic top-down shooter with players using the Nintendo DS Stlyus to move around the screen and attack enemies as they appear…
