The Island Life section of today’s edition of The Honolulu Advertiser has an article about Patricia Wood and about Lottery, her first novel, published this summer and already in its second printing.
She’ll be at a reception later today at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (where she is currently a graduate student in the College of Education), for a reading and also to sign copies of her new book. The reception starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Architecture Auditorium; the event is free.
Lottery tells the story of Perry Crandall, a mentally challenged young man who wins the Washington state lottery, and about what follows.
What a lovely, brilliant idea. The sort of idea that makes you say, “Wish I had thought of that…”
