Stumbled onto this animated teaser trailer included with the home version of Street Fighter IV.

It features Ryu, Akuma (Gouki), and … Gouken!

I wrote in a previous post (you can read the entire entry here) that I’d reserve judgment on the latest entry in the long-running Street Fighter video game franchise until I at least got a chance to see some actual in-game footage. 

Well, ign.com has posted gameplay footage of the newest Street Fighter game, Street Fighter IV.  The clip below features SF newcomer Abel squaring off against Ryu.

Well, it’s official – Capcom has unveiled a trailer for Street Fighter 4.  Looks pretty snazzy.  What do you think?

The background details are pretty impressive, but I’m not crazy about how Ryu looks in this pic.  It’s almost too realistic, if that’s possible. 

I’d rather have the cartoony, anime look.  Something like this:

Still, I suppose the screenshot above shows a significant improvement over Capcom’s last foray into 3D – Street Fighter EX.

Big difference.

Oh, well.  I’ll reserve judgment on the game’s look until we finally see some gameplay footage online.
