The Daily Blam posted a pic of Green Lantern’s Power Battery from the upcoming live action Green Lantern film awhile back; here it is:
Green Lantern Movie Power Battery
For those of you unfamiliar with the Silver Age comic book superhero and his green, lantern-shaped Power Battery, here’s the titular hero himself, Hal Jordan, as usually depicted in the comic books:
Green Lantern. Carrying a green lantern.
And here’s the Central Power Battery from which all members of the Green Lantern Corps. draw their intergalactic peacekeeping powers, also, a giant, glowing, green lantern:

Diehard comic book fans may have problems with the design of the live action Green Lantern Power Battery.
I, for one, happen to like it.
It’s green. It looks like a lantern. And it’s clearly of alien origin.
Rumor has it actress Emma Stone (Zombieland, Easy A) is being considered for the role of Mary Jane Watson, Peter Parker’s longtime flame and wife of 20 years, in the announced Spider-Man reboot.
"Emma Stone To Play Mary Jane Watson?"
Sure, she’s not naturally a redhead, but you can’t deny that looks wise, she definitely fits the part!
Here’s what Mary Jane looks like in the comics:
"MJ's First Appearance In Issue 42 of Amazing Spider-Man."
"The Wedding Of Peter Parker And MJ"
Spot-on casting if it’s true, and a far cry from Kirsten Dunst’s girl-next-door portrayal of MJ in the previous three Spider-Man films.
"Mary Jane As She Looks Today"
For once, this bit of unconfirmed casting news has me genuinely excited.
If Emma Stone’s carjacking, con artist Wichita from last year’s surprise hit horror/comedy Zombieland is any indication, it looks as though die-hard Spidey fans will finally get the comic book accurate, big screen personification of MJ they’ve been demanding.
Make it happen, Sony!
UPDATED: Looks as though Emma Stone will be playing Gwen Stacy instead of Mary Jane. Sigh. Thanks for getting my hopes up, guys…
A child of the 80s, I grew up watching Voltron: Defender Of The Universe.
My brother preferred the space-faring Vehicle Team Voltron. Me, I always had a thing for the Lion Force.
"Defender Of The Universe!"
I think it had a lot to do with the pilots. Keith, Lance, Pidge, Princess, and Hunk were just more likeable and more fully fleshed out than the fifteen-member crew of the Space Team.
That, and the whole lion thing.
Recently, a number of images have turned up on the web (courtesy of JoBlo.com), showcasing what appears to be conceptual artwork for the long-gestating, live-action Voltron feature film.
I’ve posted them here so you can have a look-see:
"Looks like Lance forgot to connect the Dynotherms again..."
Love the flaming barrels, the Hammer, and although he didn’t start sporting the new look until Donkey Kong Country some thirteen years later, DK’s necktie!
