Peanuts Sandman

I’m a huge fan of author Neil Gaiman.  In college, a friend of mine, Tim Nadeau, first introduced me to Neil Gaiman’s work on Sandman, and I’ve been a fan and follower of Neil’s work ever since.

This cartoon, titled “Charles Schulz’s Sandman,” by a deviantart user who goes by the name DocShaner, was posted on Neil Gaiman’s site, http://www.neilgaiman.com/ not too long ago, and I couldn’t resist posting it here:

Charles Schulz's Sandman

Here we have Peanuts characters Linus and Lucy done up Sandman-style, Linus playing the part of Dream with Lucy standing in for Dream’s  older sister Death, re-enacting a particularly memorable  moment from the conclusion of the very first Sandman story arc (Preludes And Nocturnes).

Have you ever seen Garfield Minus Garfield?

    http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/

“Garfield Minus Garfield is a site dedicated to removing Garfield from the Garfield comic strips in order to reveal the existential angst of a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle. It is a journey deep into the mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness and depression in a quiet American suburb.”

    Thanks for the comment!

Yes, I have seen Garfield Minus Garfield. I find the strips a bit disturbing and worrisome actually.

On the bright side, you’ve reminded me of the subject of my very next blog post … The Wolverine Daily!
