Balls Of Fury

I saw Balls of Fury a few nights ago, and came away from the experience thoroughly satisfied.

I’m not going to write a full review, (although I am tempted to do so, if only because of the mostly negative comments the nation’s film critics have seen fit to bestow upon the movie; rottentomatoes.com has Balls of Fury at a 26% overall rating based on 73 negative reviews out of 98 total reviews – ouch!) but I will say this: if you enjoyed watching the trailer and laughed out loud at all the funny bits contained therein, then you should go see Balls of Fury

It’s fun, and it’s funny, (Dan Fogler does a fine job here) and there are many more laugh out loud moments besides the ones shown in the trailer.

There’s a bit of a lull in the second act of the film when the laughs aren’t quite as frequent.  And perhaps because it’s Christoper Walken doing his usual “Christopher Walken thing,” only this time in the middle of an already wacky, off-beat, and zany comedy, Walken’s contribution comes across a bit blah in comparison and not quite up to par with the hilarious and memorable performances we’ve come to expect from him in slightly more serious fare.

Those are minor gripes, to be sure.

Final verdict: if you thought the trailer was funny, then go see the movie in theaters.
