Yesterday, I overheard one of the personal trainers at the gym I frequent commenting on the lack of available bench space to her client. To which her client replied, “You know, it is a little crowded today.”
“That’s because it’s National Chest Day, Hon.”
Puzzled, the man asked her what she meant by “National Chest Day.”
“Mondays - that’s when all the guys who take the weekend off come to the gym to work on their chest.”
“Ohhhh. I see.”

I had never heard anyone use the term “National Chest Day” before, but it’s true. Mondays are typically the busiest gym days – parking’s tight, it’s crowded, and there’s a line for all the really popular machines.
The average American male, returning from a two, (more likely) three-day hiatus from the gym, heads straight for the flat bench to work on – what else? - chest.
Silly, perhaps, but true.
My advice? Try to avoid working on chest on a Monday if you can help it.

I am a firm believer in not doing anything on the Sabbath, so the only way to get back on track is to pound out chest on Monday.
I hear you. I try to do as little as possible on Sundays as well, albeit for entirely different reasons.
Since you’re the only one leaving comments thus far, I think it’s safe to say that anyone actually reading these will deduce that you’re not just some random visitor and that I actually know you and have, on occasion, lifted with you before. HA!
Regardless, I still think it’s a good idea to avoid doing chest on Mondays if it’s at all possible, i.e., it doesn’t interfere with your workout regimen.
