Check out this ultra cool animated short featuring Monkey and his friends, Pigsy and Sandy, heading out to the Olympics in Beijing:
The clip was produced by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, the same guys who do the Gorillaz’ videos.
Pretty rad, right?

Damn this is awesome. It’s like a modern twist on an old Chinese legend.
Yeah, I love it! I love Monkey riding around on his cloud, and I especially love the use of real Chinese kung fu moves during the fights and what not…
I liked the movie Kung Fu Panda, but I really wanted the animators to use more realistic moves, i.e., actual Chinese kung fu… or moves based more closely on the actual moves (the kind of “wire-fu” you see a lot of in Hong Kong action films… only 10 times crazier because it’s animated, ya know?)
Yeah I know what you mean, I’ve been watching Hong Kong flicks all my childhood, because my parents used to own an Vietnamese/Chinese movie rentals at Chinatown. But Kung Fu Panda mostly focus for little kids, like a friendly version of Kung Fu.
