The Wolverine Daily

August 11th, 2008

I can’t remember how I stumbled onto the site, but here it is:

“The Wolverine Daily”, by Gideon Boomer, featuring a brand new rendition of everyone’s favorite X-Man, Wolverine, on a sort of (not really) daily basis.

Here are a few of my favorite, more recent Wolverine-inspired pieces of artwork:

Peanuts Sandman

August 8th, 2008

I’m a huge fan of author Neil Gaiman.  In college, a friend of mine, Tim Nadeau, first introduced me to Neil Gaiman’s work on Sandman, and I’ve been a fan and follower of Neil’s work ever since.

This cartoon, titled “Charles Schulz’s Sandman,” by a deviantart user who goes by the name DocShaner, was posted on Neil Gaiman’s site, http://www.neilgaiman.com/ not too long ago, and I couldn’t resist posting it here:

Here we have Peanuts characters Linus and Lucy done up Sandman-style, Linus playing the part of Dream with Lucy standing in for Dream’s  older sister Death, re-enacting a particularly memorable  moment from the conclusion of the very first Sandman story arc (Preludes And Nocturnes).

Super Mario Bros. 3D Artwork

August 6th, 2008

Here’s something cool I stumbled on - two nifty pieces of 3D artwork based on the original 8-bit Super Mario Bros. for the NES -

They were created by a deviantart user who goes by the moniker “NES–still-the-best.”

Neat-o!
